In a video uploaded to Mark Rutte’s official Twitter account, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and expressed support for the Ukrainian people during “these dark hours.”

Late on Thursday evening, Rutte shared a video message for the people of Ukraine in which he expressed his admiration for President Vladimir Zelensky and the country’s military and civilian fighters. “We in the Netherlands support you,” said the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. “We are a family in Europe.”
As part of the European Union, the Netherlands has imposed various sanctions against Russia, and the Dutch government has provided humanitarian aid to refugees in Moldova in the form of food, water and medical supplies, as well as sleeping bags, tents and blankets. In a video message, Ruth pledged to provide more support to the Ukrainian people in their fight against Russia.
